Buick Regal GS to make its triumphant return
Buick debuted its newest sport sedan at the 2010 North American International Auto Show. The Regal GS show car’s sleek, sporty frame is powered by a turbocharged Ecotec 2.0L four cylinder engine which yields an estimated 255 horsepower and is paired with an adaptive all-wheel-drive system and a six-speed manual transmission. The time frame for when this high-tech, sport-oriented vehicle will hit your local Buick dealership in Ft. Myers has not yet been released, however it has been confirmed that the Regal GS will indeed join the Buick lineup.
The Regal GS, a derivative of the Regal and the award winning Opel Insignia, is Buick’s newest sport sedan designed to deliver optimal, sport car drive performance. The vehicle’s drivetrain, with a lower center of gravity, allows it to achieve such performance and is assumed to empower the Regal GS to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. The show car featured Buick’s class-executive Interactive Drive Control System which allows drivers to select one of three modes, normal, sport, or GS, to operate the vehicle in. Even with all of the performance enhancements, the Regal GS may undergo even more alterations before its triumphant return.
The Regal GS retains many characteristics of its 325 horsepower derivative, the Opel Insignia, yet weighs less and has less power. Perhaps Buick’s first item on the agenda before releasing the GS to markets will be to endow it with more horsepower, especially after the Hyundai Sonata turbo exudes 276 horsepower. Local Buick dealership in Ft. Myers says that the Recaro sport seats are another modification that the GS may endure. The jet black bucket seats don’t seem to be a practical feature for 65 year old drivers, which is the average age of Buick drivers.
The Regal GS will retain the features that contribute to the reliability that is synonymous with the Buick name and will likely maintain the performance that associates the car with past Buick hot rods. Although it is unknown when the concept car will become a reality, your local Ft. Myers Buick dealership and Naples GMC Sierra Hybrid dealership have infinite alternatives that can appease your every vehicle need.
