First of all, do not go blowing your money on higher grade gasoline if you car can take unleaded. The jacked up prices don’t make your car any more fuel-efficient or perform any better. The news was apparently received with a standing ovation from dealers.  No one has forgotten the recent near collapse of the American car industry along with the overall economic woes that have continued to make headlines for two years now.  As GM was plummeting towards destruction, the United States government took over by buying enough shares to claim 61% of the company.  They also brought in new management.  About two years have past now and the efforts seem to be paying off.

The meeting told GMC and Buick dealers in Naples and other parts of the country to make room for more Sierra, Terrain and Acadia models on their lots.  Reports show overall sales of U.S. automobiles are up by 11 percent through September 2010.  GM expects this trend to continue into 2011 and their plan to increase production will place them in great position to meet the market’s demand.  Specifically, insiders suggest the Arcadia crossover’s production could be boosted by 15 percent, although GM has not confirmed this publically.

The 90-minute documentary will reflect the kids’ personal struggles and how their commitments and service ultimately impact their communities.

GM commitment to this program shows their interest in generating strong leaders and provoking positive change in the community. Sure, they could just dump the sponsorship money into a commercial or billboards, but instead they are choosing to do something positive.
