Saving on gas doesn’t have to be so hard
I can honestly say that for me buying gas is one of the hardest things to spend my hard earned money on. I can’t hold it, I don’t see it, and most importantly I can’t wear it. I cringe every time that little gas signal lights up on my dash. Buying gas has become even more unappealing since my commute to work has lengthened considerably since moving to a new location this summer. That is why I have taken it upon myself to divulge some gas saving secrets I’ve recently become privy to.
First of all, do not go blowing your money on higher grade gasoline if you car can take unleaded. The jacked up prices don’t make your car any more fuel-efficient or perform any better. Unless you are driving a vehicle that specifically calls for higher octane gas, skip it. It’s like a placebo for you, not your car. Also, I know you have heard this, but don’t top off your tank. Any extra gas will just slop out anyway. And for you lazy gas guzzlers, tighten that gas cap! One extra twist could save us 147 million gallons of evaporated gasoline a year, and while you’re there check your tires’ air. Tires with low pressure are less fuel efficient and more likely to wear down.
Use the garage and park in the shade. Keeping your car in more temperate conditions can lower wasted gas from overworked engines trying to heat or cool your car. Not to mention the walk to the car will be a little more bearable. Of course, obvious gas saving techniques would be choosing more fuel-efficient vehicles, car pooling, and not blasting the air conditioner with your windows down. For more gas conscious new or used cars, Naples’ DeVoe Buick GMC has a wide selection. If you are more concerned with horsepower and towing capabilities of a new or used Canyon, Naples DeVoe Buick GMC has the truck for you.
Now that I’ve shared some of my gas-saving words or wisdom go forth, tighten your gas caps, check your tire pressure, clear a spot in the garage, and higher octane gasoline with a much higher price tag. If you’re looking for used cars in Naples, stop by DeVoe.
